Well it has been a little while since I have wrote in the blogs but I figured I better give everyone the updates and happenings of the Van Marrewyk Clan.
I am doing fantastic life is good at work and the construction of our greenhouse is going as planned.............wait you guys don't care about that, on with the good stuff.
Renee is doing fantastic and treating us parents like royalty by allowing us to sleep (when I say us I really mean mommy) for 6 to 7 1/2 hours once a night. We are generally getting her to bed at 10ish and then Steph feeds her again between 4 and 6 so things are good on that front, but to get to this point Steph has had to take a bit of a hit. Renee was having green poops for the first 3 weeks of life so our midwife told Steph to go onto a Gluten Free diet......so no bread no pasta, none of the stuff that Steph used to live on. Thankfully the gluten free diet has turned Renee's poops yellow again and we are on track and Renee is setting new records all the time for longest sleep, and mommy is loving it. ( any ideas for Gluten Free meals for daddy to whip up for mommy please attach in a message for us - would be greatly appreciated)
Renee has also rolled on her own twice now, be it that they were both fluky you still have to count it, Renee is going to be a strong little girl as her neck has from day 5 been very very strong. She is really starting to focus on things and as well last weekend (July 21st ish) she began to smile at us, however she was smiling in her dreams for a few days prior to that. Her dreams are fun because we never know if she is going to smile or scare herself and wake up screaming. Her legs are super strong and she should be able to kick that soccer ball in no time. Move over soccer stars of the present there is a new star in the making lol.
The midwife came by this last week and was super impressed with everything that she saw so that is very promising. Unfortunately I have no present weight of our monster as the new midwife could not convert grams to pounds and never left the grams behind so that I could convert it. We do know however that she was 19 1/2 inches long at second one of life and she is now 21 1/2 inches long so she is growing!!!!
Don't be afraid to call at any time, however mommy and Renee's schedule is getting more full by the second as Stephanie has found many new moms to walk with as well as friends who just want to spend time with Renee oh and Stephanie!!!!!!!! We will try to return your calls as quickly as possible!!
Well enjoy the pics below and thank you everyone for the gifts and cards, they have very helpful so far.

One more thing - i know that at the grocery stores you can get all kinds of gluten-free stuff. I had to go off all gluten and wheat for a while back in University - Smack, i think you remember all the crazy stuff i had to eat!
Anyway, you can basically get everything that you would normally eat, in a gluten-free format. Pizza dough, tomato sauce, soups, salad dressings, pasta, cheese - all of it. And most of it doesn't taste half bad!!
Go check out a Loblaws (if you have them out there) or whatever is equivalent to that. If you're having trouble finding stuff, let me know and i'll ship some non-perishable stuff out to you and bring some with me when i come out in August.
